Overdose

Oh!! She was daubed in blue funk
The plexus of time was pestering her, she wished to be drunk.
She groaned in pain, but there wasn't anyone to complain,
Her whinges drifted in cadence,
The dribs and drabs of frills in this worldly pretence.
A swift roll, and a headlong drag,
But it all got caught in the crag.
The chunks of reality were never so stark,
The jangling pangs echoing in alleys dark.
Her sight turned bleak, she couldn't see the seamy sight,
But it all banged in her head,
And tocsins clanged with all might.
She thought she needed an overdose,
And a deeper drag went in for a close.
Now her senses were numb,
And a faint smile flickering on her pallid face.
She is free, her face now gone ashen,
But the smile is still there with a demure grace,
Which still glows in the sweet memories,
When I get haunted by her great mysteries...
